“Landscape is the purest experience of painting that I can have because I’m actually outside, experiencing the landscape in its fullest—the weather, the birds, the clouds, whatever is there—I’m putting all of that experience on the paper or the canvas. To me, it’s a transcendental experience. I love it and I think that comes across on the paintings.”
